The Queen of the Coast

Just south of Carpinteria lies Rincon Point, a legendary surf spot often hailed as the "Queen of the Coast." Known for its long, peeling right-hand waves, Rincon is a world-class destination that attracts surfers from across the globe.

The point break is created by cobblestones that perfectly shape the incoming swells, resulting in rides that can last for hundreds of yards. Rincon is divided into three main sections: the Indicator, the Rivermouth, and the Cove. The Cove is the most famous and crowded, offering the longest and most perfect waves. The Rivermouth is known for its hollow sections, while the Indicator provides a longer, more open wall.

Whether you're an experienced surfer looking to catch the wave of a lifetime or a spectator enjoying the show from the beach, Rincon Point is a must-visit. The beach itself is a mix of sand and smooth cobblestones, making it a beautiful place to spend an afternoon.

Even if you don't surf, watching the skilled surfers navigate the waves is mesmerizing. The area is also home to a diverse array of wildlife, including dolphins that often surf the waves alongside humans, sea lions, and various seabirds. During extreme low tides, the tide pools near the point expose a vibrant mini-ecosystem.
